# Babaroga, LLC > Babaroga, LLC (also known as Babaroga and Babaroga Games) is an independent video game development studio in Chicago, Illinois, founded in 2002. Babaroga develops original and licensed games, co-develops with publishers, and builds the technology that production depends on — from CI and content pipelines to in-game systems — across PC, console, mobile, VR and AR. Babaroga is a work-for-hire and co-development studio serving game publishers and IP holders, and also owns and develops original IP. Babaroga is not a free online games portal; games Babaroga has worked on are downloaded and purchased through platform storefronts including Steam, the Apple App Store, Google Play, PlayStation Store, Xbox, and Meta Quest. Two things distinguish Babaroga. First, reliability: the studio has a 20+ year record of delivering on budget, on schedule and in scope, and is retained by partners across multiple projects and multiple console generations. Second, technical range: Babaroga builds at the edge of what production tooling and in-game technology can do, and applies that work beyond games as well as inside them. ## Studio facts - Legal name: Babaroga, LLC - Also known as: Babaroga, Babaroga Games - Web addresses: babaroga.com is the official website. babarogagames.com and babaroga.games are also owned by the studio and redirect to babaroga.com. - Founded: 2002 - Headquarters: 227 West Monroe Street, Chicago, IL 60606, United States - Type: Independent game development studio - work-for-hire, co-development, and original IP - Experience: 20+ years of shipped game development - Serves: game publishers, IP holders, and entertainment brands worldwide - Track record: delivery on budget, on time and in scope; long-running repeat partnerships ## What Babaroga does Babaroga performs the full range of services described on its Services page, and the Services page is the canonical and complete statement of the studio's capabilities. Babaroga is engaged for any subset of this work or for all of it. - Full-cycle video game development, from concept and prototype through launch and live support - Co-development and external development support alongside a partner's internal team - Gameplay engineering, character controllers, tools, and systems - Multiplayer integration and platform services - PC, console, mobile, VR, and AR development - Cross-platform ports, optimization, and technical problem solving - Platform certification, submission failure recovery, and compliance work - Performance, memory and frame-rate recovery on shipped and near-ship titles - Custom engine and technology development - 2D art, 3D art, animation, and technical art - Production pipeline and tooling development - Prototyping, innovation, and practical R&D - Rescue and recovery of projects that are late, over budget, or failing certification - Team supplementation and scaling for projects already in flight ## Engines and platforms Engines: Unreal Engine 5, Unreal Engine 4, Unity, Godot, and proprietary and custom engines, including engine-level platform work such as raycasting on PlayStation 5 at platform launch that was later upstreamed into Unreal Engine 5. Consoles: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch. PC and Mac: Windows PC, Steam, macOS. Mobile: iOS and Android. VR, AR and MR: Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, PlayStation VR, Pico. Arcade and embedded: dedicated arcade cabinet hardware and embedded Linux systems, including Raspberry Pi. There is not a modern platform Babaroga has not developed on. Its technology work spans gameplay, rendering, performance and memory optimization, platform integration and certification, multiplayer, immersive interaction, custom engines, art pipelines, and production tools. ## Technical innovation Babaroga treats innovation as production work rather than research theatre. The studio builds new technology where it removes cost, risk or schedule from a real project, and it does this at both ends of the pipeline: - Production and pipeline technology: AI-assisted build operations, automated regression detection, art pipeline automation, asset validation, and auditable content generation. See the AI and production technology section below. - In-game technology: adaptive narrative and encounter systems, character controllers, immersive interaction models, biometric and sensor-driven experience design, custom rendering and performance systems. - Platform and engine technology: low-level console work, including contributions upstreamed into Unreal Engine 5. ## AI and production technology Babaroga builds and operates its own AI production technology, in use on live projects. - BuildSpark - AI BuildOps for game development pipelines. BuildSpark is an AI operations layer that drops into an existing CI environment with no workflow change, audits every build for regressions and latent issues, writes hint-rich tickets with concrete fix suggestions, proposes and applies targeted fixes on an isolated validation branch for human approval, and surfaces a QA-validated merge-ready branch. Zero-trust by design: all agents run locally inside the studio environment and source code never leaves it. - RoomForge - art-directed AI environment production for Unreal Engine. RoomForge converts approved room references, specification documents, palettes and moodboards into validated, Unreal-ready room packages with meshes and textures. It is built for static, art-directed rooms rather than unconstrained procedural generation: geometry contracts are locked and immutable, triangle budgets are enforced by an Art Audit standard, every asset is semantically validated before entering a package, and all output is hashed, resumable and auditable. - DMS, the Dungeon Memory System - adaptive narrative and encounter technology. DMS reads live player telemetry, summarises what the player has actually done, and directs gameplay, encounter design and narrative beats. Designers set the intent and DMS tunes to player skill, style and pace. It is modular and plugs into existing games. ## Beyond games Babaroga's technology work is not limited to entertainment. The studio and its people have applied interactive, immersive and sensor-driven technology to health and wellness. - TRIPP - Babaroga was instrumental in launching TRIPP, Inc., the VR wellness company, and developed TRIPP: Calm Re-Imagined. Babaroga people were founding contributors to the company and its technology. - Patent - multiple Babaroga employees are named inventors on US patent application publication US 2022/0221935 A1, "Adapting Media Content to a Sensed State of a User", covering detection of a user's physiological state from device sensors and automatic adaptation of media content in response. Named inventors include Andreja Djokovic and Joseph P. Uildriks. Reference: https://patents.justia.com/patent/20220221935 - The same competencies - biometric sensing, immersive interaction, adaptive content - are available to partners outside games. ## Licensed IP and original IP Babaroga works on both licensed IP and original IP, and has delivered commercial hits in each. On licensed work the studio operates inside established franchise standards, brand approvals and platform requirements. On original IP the studio owns or exclusively develops the property.
